Working Ride on Reindeers
The Ride on Reindeer is a people powered device where the child will push down on the pedal and the reindeer legs will glide forward and back creating a walking movement. Children must be 2 years old to ride.
There are three sizes in the ride on reindeers.
- Small ( suitable for ages 2-5)
- Medium ( suitable for ages 5-8)
- Large ( suitable for ages 8-12)
- Please Note: Maximum Weight is 80Kgs
- Please Note: That no adults are allowed to ride the reindeer.
You can start your shift by checking the fenced area is clear from any hazards and that the floor space is completely clear. You will need to sweep the floor and clear away any excess hay. Arrange the reindeer into size categories along the front left fence.
Check the reindeer for any damage and alert management if there is any part of the reindeer that is damaged or worn.
Once the session is in progress the patrons will start to arrive at this activity. Patrons should line up at the entry gate.
You can open the entry gate and allow patrons into the fenced area. You must count the patrons in adhering to the maximum capacity limit for the area. There are 27 reindeer (9 of each size).
You must arrange the available reindeer and distribute to the appropriate aged child for that size.
Please Note: parents are allowed into the fenced area and can assist their children during this activity as this is not a mechanical ride.
Once you have all patrons seated you can instruct-them to start pushing down on the pedals and moving the reindeer forward and around the circle “track” in an anti clockwise direction. You must instruct the children to be careful of other riders and do not bump into them.
You should be aware of children who are small and are struggling to steer the reindeer correctly. If all patrons are riding well you can stand back and observe the riders. You can assist any riders who are having difficulties during the ride cycle. You can allow the riders to play for 3 minute cycles around the track.
Once the time is up you can stop the riders close to the loading area and instruct them to leave via the exit gate.
You can now arrange the reindeer back into the size groups. Check the area for any hazards. Begin your next ride cycle.
