Working Catering Outlets
If you’re called upon to work at a Santa’s Wonderland catering outlet you’ll find yourself in anyone of numerous food and drink stalls.
Whichever position you’re selected for, you’ll receive comprehensive on the job training as to what to do.
You’ll need to be at work at least a 1/2 hour before opening time so that you can make sure that the outlet is clean, producing fresh and hot fare that is ready to serve.
You’ll need to check that the slushy machines have been turned on, are full and frozen. You will then need to do a walk around outside and check that the visual merchandise is fully stocked and neat and tidy, including the slushy sipper cups, fairy floss buckets, toffee apples and gingerbread men.
The till trays will be delivered prior to opening and they must be put in to the register and closed. When the day opens and the patrons come inside every Santa’s Wonderland Catering Staff member must be at their station and be in a welcoming positive mood.
During the day it is important to maintain the catering stands presentation by regularly checking the displays, cooking popcorn and refilling the slushing machine.
The end of the day will usually be the busiest time and you must check that you have enough change for the busy period, if not radio to a supervisor for additional change. The popcorn should be full and everything in place for quick sales. It might be best to have 1 person at the register putting sales through and others serving so that there is no congestion at the Point of sales area.
After the rush you can start to clean up, removing any rubbish from the stand.
